Dear Children,
There are many kinds of mazes in this world. Some are paper mazes that we solve with a pencil, while others are hedge mazes where we have to walk around and find the right path.
Life can sometimes feel like a maze too. Every day, we have decisions to make, and we want to choose the right path. When solving a maze, we might try to guess which way to go based on what we see and what we think is best. But when it comes to the decisions we make in life, we must be very careful about relying only on our own understanding.
God gives us a warning in Proverbs 14:12, There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
This verse teaches us that there are ways that seem right to us. We may think that our choice is good because it makes sense in our own minds. But what seems right to us may not be right in God's eyes. A path that looks good at the beginning can lead to a terrible ending.
We can see this in the life of Judas Iscariot. Judas chose money instead of following the Lord Jesus. He thought that receiving money was the right thing to do, and he betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. But the path he chose led to a terrible end. Judas did not simply lose his life; Scripture warns us of the seriousness of rejecting Christ and facing eternal judgment.
So, which way should we go? How can we know that we are walking in the right way?
Jesus gives us the answer in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is not simply a way to life—He is the way. He is the truth, and He is the life.
When we face decisions in life, we should not simply ask, “What do I think is best?” Instead, we should ask, “What does God say?” We should read His Word, pray for wisdom, and follow the way He has given us.
Just like we need the correct path to get out of a maze, we need to follow the right path in life. Let us trust our Lord Jesus, follow His way, and walk with Him, because He leads us to everlasting life.
