Dear Children,
When your parents drive you to school or to church, do they always take the same road? Sometimes they may have to take a different road because there is an accident, a road closure, or roadworks. There may be many different roads that can take us to the same place.
But what about the way to heaven? Are there many different ways to get to heaven, just as there are many roads that can take us to school or church?
Let us see what our Lord Jesus says: John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
We have looked at this verse before and learned that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus is not only the best way for us to live our lives—He is also the only way to heaven.
Many people have tried to find their own way to heaven. One common idea is that if we do enough good things, we can earn our way to heaven.
Doing good things is certainly what God wants us to do. But our good works cannot take away our sins or earn us a place in heaven. We cannot save ourselves by being good enough.
The Bible teaches us that we are saved through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again, and we must trust in Him for salvation.
So, children, let us not look around for another way to heaven. Let us look to Jesus, because He is the only way to the Father and the only way to eternal life.
