Proverbs 17:17
“…whether in periods of happiness or sorrow…”
Proverbs 17:17, A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
When someone calls you a “sunshine friend,” it means you are someone who only loves when times are good. Just like when the sun is shining in the daytime, but is missing at night. A true friend is someone who stands with you at all times whether in periods of happiness or sorrow.
When do we need our friend most? In times of trouble, right? That is the time when you see the true nature of your friend. He or she will be like a brother or sister who will be there to encourage, care and support you. That is the meaning of a brother is born for adversity.
Dear children, we want such friends, but it is more important we ourselves BE such friends. We must not only love our friends in good times, but in all situations, to cheer and help them especially in the most difficult times.
