Selected Scriptures
“…a special time…”
What is quiet time?
It is a special time you set aside each day to pray and read your Bible. “I will delight in thy statutes: I will not forget thy Word (Psalm 119:16).”
Who does quiet time?
The believer, both young and old, who knows Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Saviour, needs to draw closer to Him and know Him better.
Why do you have quiet time?
It is the way to receive spiritual food which is necessary for you to be nourished and grow spiritually. You feed on God’s Word so that you can grow strong in the Lord. “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18a).”
Where to do quiet time?
You need to find a place where you can be alone so that you will be disturbed to pray and read your Bible. A place where you can spend “quiet time” with God.
When to do quiet time?
You need to do it regularly each day, and if possible, always at the same time. It can be in the morning as you commit the day’s activities to the Lord, or in the afternoon as you pray for His strength, wisdom and discernment to deal with the trials, or in the evening as you reflect on how He has helped you throughout the day. “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice (Psalm 55:17).”
