1 Peter 2:9e
“…it is only right for us…”
1 Peter 2:9, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
God has saved us, through the Lord Jesus Christ, out of darkness into his marvellous light. Therefore, it is only right for us to shew forth the praises of him. In other words, we are to declare or proclaim what a loving, gracious and merciful God He is. We want to tell everyone that if God can save us, He can save them too.
Let’s suppose, you are chosen to be an ambassador for Australia. It is an honour to be able to represent Australia, and you will proudly declare the power, resources and abilities of this great nation, right? However, do you realize that as Christians, we are called to be ambassadors not for a great person or nation, but the Almighty God? 2 Corinthians 5:20 said, Now then we are ambassadors for Christ. As ambassadors for Christ, we must declare to the unbelieving world, the power of Jesus to save them from eternal damnation and reconcile them to God.
Dear children, this is what we must do as ambassadors for Christ, to shew forth the praises of him, to our unbelieving loved ones and friends in school. We want to tell them there is only one Saviour who can save them from sin and hell, and His name is Jesus. We want to plead with them to believe in Him and receive salvation!
