“…we praise and give thanks to God for His goodness and provision…”
Dear Bethelites,
I am so delighted to write to you regarding the relief support we, First BPC and Ngalti BPC, have received with much thanks from Bethel Bible-Presbyterian Church. First of all, we praise and give thanks to God for His goodness and provision through the instrumentality of Bethel BPC. “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” (Matt 6:25-26). The following is a short report on how the relief has been administered. The total relief fund received was 20,000,000 MMK (equivalent to AUD 8000) and spent 10,000,000 each for Ngalti BPC, Chin State and First BPC, Yangon.
Present Situation On Political Unrest
Our country has been going through a very difficult period starting from the year 2020 till today, 2025. The Covid-19 pandemic, military coup followed by the civil war, money inflation and even the recent earthquake, all these have severely overwhelmed almost all the people of Myanmar. Especially the political unrest has caused the whole country to be unsafe and most people struggle even for their daily bread.
Amid this difficult situation, we thank God for His protection and provision in our daily life. Indeed, God’s grace is sufficient (2 Cor 12:9). Having experienced again your love, concern, prayer and generosity towards us in this difficult period, we cannot help but praise God for your good work and we are so encouraged and grateful to Bethel BPC. Again, we are joyfully reminded of God’s faithfulness in our life through this relief. We hereby give our sincere thanks to you all.
Relief Distribution
On Thursday, 8 May, the leadership of Ngalti BPC administered and distributed the relief to every family of the church with thanksgiving and encouragement from the Word of God and explaining where the relief came from. They categorized the families into two groups, big and small. Five items of daily necessities were given out: (1) rice, (2) dry bean, (3) sugar, (4) salt, and (5) instant coffee mix. They are altogether 20 families (7 big and 13 small). Rev Jeffrey Mang informed us that one big family received 6 bags of rice, and one small family received 4 bags (1 bag = 25kg). For other items, they distributed proportionately. For this time, because of transportation difficulty due to civil war, they bought those stuffs from a small town called “Tio,” situated at the Indian border about 40 miles away from Ngalti village.
On Wednesday, 14 May, the pro-tem committee of First BPC also administered and distributed the relief to every family of the church and to some regular worshippers. The items given out include: (1) rice, (2) cooking oil, (3) dry bean, and (4) egg. We categorized the families into three groups; big, small, and regular worshipper. There are 23 families comprised of 12 big families, 7 small families, and 4 families of regular worshipper. Big family received 2 bags of rice (1 bag = 49kg), 9 liters of oil, 90 eggs, and 5kg of dry bean; small family received 1 bag of rice, 6 liters of oil, 60 eggs, and 3kg of dry bean; and regular worshipper family also received 1 bag of rice, 3 liters of oil, 30 eggs, and 1kg of dry bean. All who received the relief are so happy and cease not to give praise unto the LORD. We are even encouraged and so thankful to all the Bethelites and the leadership of Bethel BPC, Melbourne, Australia for your concern and brotherly love shown towards us. We pray that this love of God in action will edify our spiritual walk with God as it strengthens our body. All praise and glory be to the LORD our God, who supplies all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Again, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21). May our faithful LORD continue to bless all the Bethelites richly.
With love in Christ,
Lian Uk
