“…we ought always to pray…”

Dear Children,
How often do you pray to God? Do you only pray before you eat? Sometimes we even forget to do that because we are so busy with homework or playing sports. Before we realise it, the whole day has passed and we have hardly prayed at all.
What does God say about this?
Luke 18:1, And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
This Bible verse teaches us that we ought always to pray. Of course, this does not mean that we spend all day praying and never do anything else. Rather, it means that we should be ready to pray whenever there is an opportunity. We can pray when we wake up in the morning, before meals, while taking a break from homework, or before going to bed. Prayer should always be on our hearts, and we should have a desire to speak to God throughout the day.
One way to understand this is by thinking about your best friend. When you love your best friend, you enjoy talking and spending time with them whenever you can. God is an infinitely better friend than anyone else because He is always with you and always ready to listen to your prayers. Even your best friend may sometimes be too busy to talk, but God never is.
Since God loves us so much and cares for us perfectly, we should always want to turn to Him whenever we have the chance.
So let us “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
