James 1:5
“…communicate His wisdom to us…”
James 1:5, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God... and it shall be given him.
God promised to give wisdom to the believers who prayerfully ask of Him. But the question is, “How is God going to communicate that wisdom to us?”
Fundamentally, God communicates wisdom directly through His Word (the Bible is a Book of Wisdom), and through the wonder-working of His Spirit indwelling in our hearts. Sometimes God will use someone else to help us, like the pastor, elder, deacon or mature believer, as Proverbs 24:6b says, in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. God will also communicate His wisdom to us through His providential dealings with us. We pray and ask the Lord to direct our paths, as Proverbs 3:5-6 said, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Dear children, God will communicate His wisdom to us through His Word, His Spirit and someone else. And we must read and obey His Word, yield to His Spirit’s leading, and humbly consult the godly counsels of the mature believers. God will direct our paths, and show us what He wants us to do by opening and closing doors. Perhaps you are struggling, “Should I do this or should I do that, then all of a sudden, the door is shut and you don’t have to worry about it anymore.” On another occasion, you may be wondering what you should do, then all of a sudden, God opens the door. That is how God will lead us by His providential hand!
