James 5:19-20

There may be some people who profess their faith in God, but in reality they are false believers. The reason is because they have strayed from the truth of God’s Word.
What must we do? Neither we nor our words can convert a person, only the Gospel of Christ. So, we must preach the true Gospel to them! Therefore, James said, Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; (James 5:19).
What will happen when we do that? Let him know, that he which converted the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins (James 5:20). By God’s saving grace, the person may be turned from his erroneous ways, and he will be saved from his sins.
Dear children, our goal is to reach out to every sinner with the Gospel, because the threat he is facing is death - eternal death. Once the sinner repents of his sins and believes in Jesus Christ for salvation, he is saved, and God will then cover the multitude of sins he has committed. Let us be faithful, strong and courageous, to share the Gospel that is able to save the soul from death!
