Matthew 5:14a, Ye are the light of the world
Christ is the source of our light. John 1:9, That (Christ) was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. Jesus said in John 9:5, As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. Today, His light shines in the world through those whom He has saved. He has transformed the believers from darkness into His marvellous light, and given them His Word to be a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105) so that they can be His instruments of light. Therefore, He said to the believers, ye are the light of the world.
To be the light of the world;
- He is not worldly, and he lives a life different from the world he is called to shine.
- He lives his life according to the Word of God, demonstrating the truth of the Bible.
- He will not only live out of the principles of the Gospel, but he will declare it to the world as well.
- He follows the example of the true source of light which is Jesus Christ.
The believer must be different.
The believer must be righteous and true.
The believer must proclaim God’s light.
The believer must follow the example of Christ.
Dear children, Jesus has saved you, and He calls you to be the light of the world. You must be different from this world which is darkened by sin, be righteous and true, and proclaim His Gospel, and follow the example of Christ. Your life cannot save anyone, but through your life, you will point others to the Gospel which can save their souls.
