TRANSCRIPT
This morning we shall consider this passage from Isaiah 6. Isaiah 6. And if you have your bibles with you, please open your bibles to Isaiah 6. Let me read to you Isaiah 6:1-8.
“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
Amen. Lord add His blessings upon the reading of His precious word.
Introduction
Christianity Today published an article last year around Feb or March 2024. And the title of that article was “The Apocalyptic Future of Bible Schools in UK”. And based on the assessment during one of the conferences of Bible schools and seminaries in UK, it was found out that within two years there will be around 50% or more, and that they counted around 18 of the 30 Bible schools and seminaries in the UK, who are either planning or trying to merge with other Bible colleges or they have started to close down.
And indeed in 2025 that outlook, that apocalyptic outlook of the Bible colleges in the UK, is fulfilled. It did not even reach two years. Many are closing down. Many are merging with other Bible colleges.
There were three reasons that they mentioned and the number one of these reasons was the low enrolment of Bible school students. Probably that was affected by COVID-19. But even though after that there was a low intake of students into these Bible colleges. And of course this will result in low income, finances will be affected and management also will be affected and they seem to have seen also somehow there is a lack of demand.
Although there are many churches without pastors, without preachers, but there seem to be lack of the demand for trained pastors. More churches are aiming towards charismatic leaders. Leaders who can speak well though they have not entered and trained in the Bible college or seminaries.
And for these three reasons, we know that prophecy slowly or even immediately fulfilled in 2025. And that is not only in UK that is also happening in the US and many other countries. We don't know what is the state of Bible colleges in Singapore, but at least I know one who just closed down a year or two ago.
Why? We might ask. This is not a ripe time. It is the best time for Christians to encourage one another, to be trained, to know God's word, to know how to preach, to know how to counsel, to know how to bring out the word of God in this time of turmoil, in this time of trouble, in this time where the world is confused, in this time that we are running out of a period where we can come or we can go and preach God's word.
When we know the Lord Jesus Christ is coming, everybody would have that eagerness and the desire — I must give my life to the Lord because the time is running out. This should be the time that many people young and old will go and flock towards seminaries and Bible colleges to learn more of God's word because we need preaching.
We need the word of God to be preached and to be scattered and to be brought into the four corners of this world because we know time is running out. The Lord Jesus Christ is coming. Everyone must know. Everyone must come to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. That's our desire of course. This would supposedly be the time that many, especially our young people, would listen and hear the call of God.
Yet we know the situation. Bible colleges are closing down all because there is low enrolment. We thank God for the increase of the interest in some other continents like in Africa. We thank the Lord for this. But in many first world countries, Bible colleges are closing down. These nations which were known to have sent forth many missionaries and missions sending countries now are closing their gates, shutting off their doors and instead opening their dormitories to secular universities and colleges. This is sad. This is alarming.
And here in this passage, I pray we can see the importance of the basic things that we have to understand and to know from God in order for our young people and even us to respond to God's call.
There are many today who would just say, ‘I'm not called. I did not hear any kind of calling from God. I don't have any burden to serve. I think I can serve the Lord in this way. I think I can serve the Lord in that aspect. I can still serve the Lord and glorify the Lord in this way.’ But less and less are hearing the call of God to be sent forth according to God's will.
We want to serve the Lord in our own way. ‘I can serve the Lord in this because I know this. I can serve the Lord in that kind of ministry because I am equipped in that kind of work.’ But never that we ask the Lord, ‘Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do? Send me, Lord, to what You want me to do, to where You want me to go.’
But there are important things that we have to consider here because in the book of Isaiah in his prophecy he already started the grim, sad, alarming days of the people of Judah. He mentioned here of how they have forsaken the Lord in chapter one, how God hated them because of their evil and wicked sacrifices. How they were offered to come to God and be cleansed and how they were offered by God to be forgiven if they will come to God.
And by this Isaiah could have asked the Lord, ‘Lord, please send me. I want to be a part of that work. I want to be a part of bringing Thy people to be cleansed.’ But here in chapter six, we see the important things that are prerequisites for us, for young people and even us to respond, so that we can hear and will be enabled to hear the call of God.
I. Who God is
From verses 1 to 4, we have here the revelation of God of who He is. This is important and I believe this is what is also lacking among Christians today. We know not God. We are so ignorant of who God is and we just think He is like Santa Claus or He's like a kind of vending machine that we can just ask and put, and we can receive something from Him. He is just an old man. He's a dad. He's a father. He's a brother.
That's what we think of God. He's somebody, one who will be with me, who will help me, who will give me what I need and will give me pleasure and comfort when I am lonely. This is the God that we know today. But here we have the revelation of who God is.
And not only that, here we see God revealed to Isaiah who He is, He also showed to him the redeeming work of God upon His people. God's revelation and God's redemption for believers must be there in order for them to hear the call of God, to understand who He is and to know what He has done for us.
Apart from this, we just take lightly God. I'm not called. I can do anything I like. I am serving God in this way. God is glorified in that ministry. I am serving there. We know not who he is and we know not what he has done for us. And so the Lord has to reveal to Isaiah, who He is and what He has done for him.
In verses 1 to 4, we have here some figurative description of who God is. But we can easily identify here what God wants us to see about Him or who really is He for us.
In verse one, he says, " In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple." The sovereign power of God. And here he mentioned King Uzziah. King Uzziah was a king, he was doing as what is described in 2 Chronicles what God what he did right before God.
And so there was prosperity and peace in the nation of Judah. And because of that prosperity and peace, people were having some kind of comfort. Their lives were okay. They were prospering and they were not seeking any kind of help or protection because there was peace between Israel and Judah. There was no war. There were no invaders also from other lands. They were relatively at peace and progressively having their economy and they were blessed by God.
But when King Uzziah died, there was a change in the nature in the environment of Judah. There was anarchy. People were just doing what is right in their own eyes. And when these are the things that happened, of course, we can expect that there will be trouble. There'll be some chaos. There'll be some problems.
And this was a time that God revealed unto Isaiah who he is. Uzziah died. Then the Lord revealed himself sitting upon a throne. It is not because of Uzziah that you have prospered. It's not because of Uzziah that you have peace. It's not because of this king that you live quite comfortably. It is because of the Lord sitting upon a throne. I am in control. He was the one who is doing and was ordaining and was guiding and was knowing all things to be done. He foreordained these things. He's a God who is overall in control.
In fact, here we understand in that way because he used the word capital “L” small “ord”. And this is with reference to Adonai. The one who is the master, the one who is the ruler, the one who is in control. He did not reveal here or he did not show himself as the covenant keeping God or the powerful God.
But he says, ‘I am sitting on my throne. I am sovereignly ruling over this land.’ And not only the land of Israel, but the whole earth and the whole universe is under my control. He was high and lifted up. One who is God majestic, awesome, one who must be given the honour and reverence. One who is to be worshiped. One who is to be given exaltation. He is God high and lifted up.
And his train filled the temple. The train here would refer to a part of the skirt. And that means he was so great that even the temple can’t contain it. Even this earth and the heavens of heavens and the universe cannot contain God. This is the Lord that we worship. This is the God that we have to know. He's not just a somebody. He's not just one whom we can just go easily and tell something and ask for things that we desire. He is to be worshiped. He's God whom we should have a reverential fear. We tremble before him because he is the God who is so great and he's the one who is overall in control.
He's the one who created all things and he keeps the universe in perfect coordination because he is God who designs all things. And we know also that he is God who is in control of our lives. If he's in control of the universe, if he is in control of this world, of this earth, he's in control of our lives. Every beat of our heart, every breathe from our mouth, everything that we do, every time we raise our hands, every time we walk a step, it is under his power. He sustained us.
When we wake up in the morning, it is because God has allowed us to live another day. When we come here to worship God, it’s because God wants us to come and worship God and not to come to the church just to sleep. We are here to worship the Lord.
We're not coming before a prime minister. We're not coming before somebody whom we can just doze off and then after the whole worship will wake up. He is the God of the universe. He is the God who created us. We must have fear before him. And that is what is lacking among Christians today. We just consider him as somebody's buddy out there. Oh, how we should come before him to worship him and honour him as God who created everything and has preserved us even until this day. That every cycle, everything that happened in even in the smallest cell in our body is under his control.
Not only that, he is our God who is sovereign over all, he revealed himself also as God of justice. He is God who will judge.
Above it to the seraphims. The word “seraph” here is mentioned in other parts of the scripture but this is the only part of the scripture by which it is translated into seraphims. The word “seraph” is the idea of burning. They are fiery and when you have fire we have light but it is also a consuming fire. There is truth but he will judge. There is light but he will punish.
The seraphims here, shown to be there before God. And even these seraphims, the burning ones, the fiery created angels with six wings covered their face, covered their feet, and with twain did fly. The idea of this covering of face is coming before him with awe and reverence to this God.
They worship God with full knowledge that he is God of all, and covered their feet because they acknowledged that they are nothing before him. They were just creatures. It is the act of humility, act of subjecting themselves to this God who is their creator and who is in control over them. And when he says something, they are ready to fly and do his bidding.
These are the angels, the seraraphim. And if this was the response of this angel, seraphim before a holy, righteous, holy God - we know we who are even unclean, unworthy before him - how should we render ourselves with reverence, with humility, and with haste to do God's bidding.
And so this seraphim continued on to praise the Lord. They cried one to another. This is not a cry of weeping, of sadness. This was not a cry of loneliness, a cry when they somehow need something to be provided. They were praising God. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of his glory. His glory fills the earth. Holy, holy, holy. This is a trinitarian praise. Holy is God the father. Holy is God the son. Holy is the God the spirit. Holy, holy, holy, that thrice holy God.
And if we understand this holiness of God, we who are depraved, we who are unholy in all our ways, we who are by nature sinful, we who are wicked and evil and deceived in our hearts, we must be fearful. We are a people who must come before him acknowledging that he is God who is holy and will judge everything that will go against his will, that will go against his law, that will go against his word. He's the Lord of hosts. He can immediately tell these numbers of angels to declare war and to fight and to punish those who are unfaithful and rebellious.
Yet God showed here how he is so glorious to fill the whole earth to show forth that indeed he is God who still continues to keep on calling men and women to repent, to come back to him to return unto him. That's why here in verse four he showed his presence.
Yes, he is God Almighty. So in control of everything. Yes, he is so holy that no man can come before his holy presence. And those who will see this holiness [will] be consumed by God's consuming fire. But we have here his presence. And this is manifested in how it is described by Isaiah. The post of the door moved at the voice of him that cried and the house was filled with smoke. It represents his presence. It shows how he is Emmanuel, God with us. It shows how he still continues to call upon people to seek and to save that which was lost.
This is our God. This is the God that we have to know. He is so glorious. We are unworthy. And yet he stooped down and condescended in order to bring his chosen back to him, that people will worship him according as who he is. This is a great revelation. Do we really know God in this way? Do we really know that he is God whom we come before him? When we pray, we ask him, ‘Lord, yes, you are our above father, but Lord, I know I'm not worthy even to call you father, for I am a rebellious son. Cleanse me.’
And this is what Isaiah understood when he knew that this God is so great, majestic, holy, yet continues on to woe to people and plead to come and repent. He realized that he is nothing before this holy God. Woe is me. This is an expression, a cry of a person who knows the judgment the condemnation that he will receive because he knows he is unclean. He is wicked. He is evil before God. That great light and he is a great darkness. He is holy and there is this sinful wicked person. Woe is me.
Have we experienced this kind of realization in our lives? Woe is me. Are we presenting God as if we are worthy because you know Lord I'm serving thee. You know Lord I'm a good boy. You know Lord my parents are doing this. You know Lord I'm not doing any bad thing. Not like them. I'm better than them. I'm holier than them. I'm doing all things that would please people. I am doing all things that would make them happy. Lord, you must accept me.
Isaiah says, ‘Woe is me. I am undone.’ You know, Isaiah was not saying that he was unsaved, he was a wicked man, he was somebody's outside God's kingdom. He was already here. We know the first part of this. He was already given that call to be in God. He is saved and yet he knows that even though in that salvation he still continues on to have this sinful habits and it is manifested in how he declared “I am a man of unclean lips” (verse 5).
The words that will come out from our mouth comes from our hearts. Out of the things that we have imagined and things that we have in our hearts comes out from our lips. He says I am of unclean lips. And not only that I am of unclean lips. I dwell in the midst of a people unclean. I'm not only a mud myself, I'm in the mud. I'm not only a evil wicked person but I belong to a nation of evil and wicked hearts.
What is the hope? This is actually hopelessness before God. Lord, I am nothing before Thee. You are everything yes, but Lord, I am a sinful person. I am unclean. And if this was Isaiah's response, what would be what do you think is your own response to God before Him in prayer? Can we just ask Lord please tomorrow I'll be doing this. You must bless me. Lord I need this. You must give me. Lord I need that thing, you must provide for me. Is this our prayer before Him? Isaiah understood who God is.
Woe is me for I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips. All of us deserves to die. All of us deserves to be punished. All of us deserves to be condemned. All of us Lord, needs Thy judgment. We have done evil and wicked before Thee. And Lord, Thou has revealed to me as the holy God. Mine eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts.
And take note of here in verse five is now the capital L-O-R-D. You are the one who is in control. You are the ruler, the master of this universe. And by Your sovereign rule and power, you can judge us, you can condemn us, you can destroy us, but Thou art the Lord faithful, covenant keeping unto Thy people. You will not allow this.
And this is the assurance of Isaiah.
II. What God has Done for us
He understood who he is before God. But he first also had seen of this God who is willing and who is ready to redeem His people. And this is also what we take lightly. That redemption is as if, well Jesus Christ loved me so much. God has a good plan for me. And because God has a good plan for me, He wants me to be in heaven. Jesus came into this this earth and then He offered Himself to die for me. I am such a special person. I am a person whom God really wants to be in heaven. And so Jesus came for me.
And we forget how much suffering, what He has done for us in order to cleanse us, in order to forgive us, in order to make us worthy to be part of His family. And the Lord showed here that way of cleansing.
“Then flew one of the serpents unto me” (verse 6). By the way, this “live coal” here refers to a stone that is in the altar of incense. An altar which represents the prayers of the people unto God. And then it was laid upon his mouth, that filthy and clean lips was touched by the live coal. And then the iniquity is taken away. Their sin is purged.
You know how great is this? The light, the truth of God's word and the judgment of God. This He showed to Isaiah. But in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is met with mercy and grace that indeed even though there is judgment, there is grace of God, Jesus Himself took away our sins and purge it from us.
Do we think we are deserving to be cleansed? Do we think Lord, you must cleanse me because I am this man. Lord, you must bring me to holiness because I have done this. It's all because of His own pleasure. We forget about this. We think of ourselves as important people. We forget that it is only by the grace of God that He decided that we be cleansed and be part of His family. It is by His will.
Did we force Him? Did we do something in order to get His attention? Are we that cute that we attracted God's attention that we must be cleansed? No. It is by God, because we all are dead in trespasses and sins. And somehow God has chosen us and has cleansed us, touched our lips, given us this Spirit of God that regenerated us so that we can have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of our sins and believe in Him and receive Him as our Lord and Saviour.
It is all by Him. We have nothing. We don't have any contribution even 0.001% of our salvation. He redeemed us by His own will. He redeemed us because He has chosen us. And He's chosen us because of His own pleasure.
We take pride of ourselves as believers. We take pride of ourselves as Christians. We take pride of ourselves as preachers. No, we are not here in this hall today except by the mercy and grace of God. And I pray we understand that, because if we truly understand it's all by His grace and mercy, we tremble before Him and we ask Lord, ‘with all this favour that You have given me, what can I do for you?
It is not me offering what I have. It's not my skills, it’s not my talent, it's not my intellect it's not being a graduate of this and of that. It is not because of these things. I just want to follow and to obey and to want to do what you want me to do. Because You have done so great a work in me - redemption.’
And that is what is not seen by many. As if we are to be forced by God. ‘Come do this. Come help me.’ And we owe nothing before God. Can easily say, ‘I'm not called, I can serve God in that way. I can serve God in this way.’
We're challenging God. We do not we don't know exactly who He is and what He has done for us. And if we realize who He is and what He has done for us, then we can respond like what Isaiah did.
When he understood, that indeed is a man unclean, is a man sinful, is a man worthy of God's condemnation, is a man who is not even worthy to be part near to God, then God here cleansed him, forgave Him, has purged his sin totally.
And he says here, ‘thy sin purged, “thine iniquity is taken away” (verse 7). Meaning, you will not be guilty when you come before me. You will not be judged. There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus. This is what I have done for you. And you have to remember that this is Mm work, not your work, not anything that you have done something in order to add to this work. It is all 101% of God. And now I am made cleansed, forgiven, sanctified because of the Lord's work in me.
And so when he understood this, he heard the voice of the Lord. Did we hear the voice of the Lord? Many will say, ‘Oh, I'm not, I didn't hear any from God.’ Isaiah heard it. Why? Because he saw the revelation of God, who He is and he understood what great redeeming work He has done for me. And now I am willing to listen unto you. Lord, what do You want me to do? He heard.
Many did not hear the call because we did not want to listen. Many did not hear the call because they didn't want to acknowledge that it is of God. They plugged their ears because they don't want to listen. They don't want to hear. But Isaiah when he realised this, he heard the voice of the Lord. And it was not a voice unclear. It was not a voice like a sound. It was not a voice, just something like a thunder. It was a voice that says, ‘Whom shall I send and who will go for us?’
He was not telling Isaiah, ‘Isaiah, you have to go. Isaiah, you have to do this. Isaiah, I want you to go in this land. I want you to tell the people of this. It was opening and this is an open question call for all of us. ‘Whom shall I send and who will go for us?’
I know all of us are saying ‘no, I'm sure Lord it is not me’. Of course, the Lord has a specific call for each individual. Not all must come full-time. Not all must be this in this ministry. Not all must be in that mission's work. We have a specific call. The problem that we have to ask ourselves, did we really hear Him call? If we are called to do that thing, if we are called to do that ministry, do we hear His call or do we just hear our own voices? I want to do that. I want to do this.
Do we hear the voice of the Lord? You can only hear this. We can only hear this if we really know who He is and what He has done for us. Because by that we want to listen and to open our ears and to really focus on what He wants us to do.
I heard the voice of the Lord. I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘whom shall I send and who will go for us?’ Because we understand this representing God, the triune God. Then said I, and here is what Isaiah responded. “Here am I; send me.” (verse 8)
A willing heart. A ready heart. I may not be somebody who can do this Lord but if You want me to go in that way I will go. I may not be as equipped as this other people in this ministry but I am ready to do that. You just tell me where to go, what to do and here am I, send me.
I pray all of us will pray this. Don't be afraid. He will not send us to the Bible school if we are not really for that ministry. He will not send us to a nation and go there if that is not His plan. But the perfect thing is He will tell us and the most important, is we want His voice. We want His word. We want His direction.
And so here, what do we want today? Do we want to see this kind of vision? They want to dream that, oh there is God and there's this seraphim and there is this angels and this seraraphim will bring that live coal into my mouth. No, this is not the way we are going to look forward to these things that we can hear. We have understood and that's the best thing that we have learned from the church camp. We have the revelation of God in our Bible. The book God's perfect revelation for us. This is the book that will describe who God is. And this is the book that will describe what God has done for us. And if you read this book with a fear of God, with a desire to know His will, surely the Lord will open our ears to hear His voice.
I pray we want to hear the voice of the Lord. We have that desire to hear from Him. Lord, I know I have only limited time. I only have a few years on earth. I only have this number of years to live, but I want to live it out according to your guidance, to your leading to what You want me to do. I want to hear Your voice from Your word. I want to follow You. This is a person, a man who truly understands who God is and how he is saved by God.
A man who truly have received so much from God would run to Him and seek after God's will. Lord, You have done so great a work in my life. I was dead. You made me alive. I was going to hell. You bring me to the path towards heaven. I am assured of eternal life instead of eternal condemnation. Now Lord, with the remaining years that I am on earth, I want to serve. I want to offer it to You. I want to hear Thy voice. And if You will send me, ‘Here am I; send me’.
Well, we all understand it is easier to say to just say ‘Here am I’ send me than actually doing it. I myself could testify with shame on me that there were times when I was even when I was called by God that I kept on saying, ‘no that is not the way Lord. That is not what you want from me.’ I wanted my own way I wanted what I desired in my heart. It's not easy to just say, ‘Here am I.’
It is easy for those who hear His voice. It is easy for those who realize who God is. It is easier for those who know what God has done in your lives. But if you have not realized this, it's difficult. We can debate with God. We can argue with God. Lord that is not the way. You know if you I go that way this will be the consequence. Well you know Lord, if I lose this job you know this will be the consequences for my family.
We argue with Him because we don't know that He is the Lord who is sovereign. We don't want to listen. We don't want to hear Him. And as if we owe nothing of Him, we can just easily say, ‘Lord, that is not the right way.’
We thank God that He is a God of grace, full of patience, continues on to deal with us and show us His way. And we pray that each of us now who desires to hear God's voice, to point to us where we can go and what we can do for Him, may desire to know His will. And be ready and say, ‘Lord, Here am I, send me, ready, prepared, willing because I know of who You are and what You have done to me.’
Augustine was a man of intellect, a man who was so good philosophically and have known many things. He was a genius in his own way in his days. In fact, He is considered as the greatest of the church fathers, not just by the Protestants, but also by the Roman Catholics and even by the Greek Orthodox.
But when he realised that he was doing something out of God's will, he was troubled. [He] was looking for ways by which he can be satisfied and there be peace and contentment in his heart. He was doing everything. He went into different philosophies, platonism, mannequinism, other things in order to just have peace and contentment and joy and gladness. But he did not get it.
And then one friend showed him the way of Christ. Gave him the Bible. And the Lord suddenly at that time caused the death of one of his closest friends that awakened him and caused him to think, ‘what if I will be next to this man.’
Did I live such a life that is full and contented and I can say that I live it to the fullest? He was asking, he was inquiring, he was seeking. And God's voice was upon him.
It was through a little child who just placed something like, take up that book and open it and read. And when he read it, it was the voice of God from the scriptures that told him, ‘This is God's way for you. Leave all the vices and the things of this world and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.’ And he did.
A man of success, a man of accolades, a man who is well known, yet he knew that was not the life that he must live.
And here, we have also Isaiah. Who realised that he needed to give his life for the Lord because he knew Him. Not because of the demand of the people around him, that there was anarchy, that there was a seemingly troubled turmoil period of time. Not because there were many other needs that I must go, so Lord, assign me into that area because there are many people there who have not known Thee. Place me in an area where there are many people who need my care. No, he was not moved by that need. He was moved because of who God is. He was moved because he knew who God is in his life and what He has done for him. I pray we all have also this conviction.
Yes, in today's world, Bible schools are closing down all because many of our young people love the world [more] than the Word of God. Many of our young people want to have more of the material things rather than grow spiritually and be concerned with spiritual things of others. The young people and even all of us desire to enjoy and have pleasures in this world rather than looking forward to the pleasures and the joy of eternal life in heaven.
That's what we are thinking. We have not known Him. We have not realised who God is in our lives. And if we start today to really ask, ‘Lord, reveal to me who You are and what you have done to me’, then we can hear Him. And then we can say to Him, ‘Lord, Here am I; send me.’
I pray this is the longing of our hearts. This is the desire of our hearts. And I look forward to how God will change the minds of some of our young people today to offer their lives to Christ. Not because there's a need of students in Bible schools. Not because there are Bible schools closing down. We want them to open always. Not because we want preachers and teachers here and around us, but we want to serve the Lord because He is our God and He has saved us.
Let us open our eyes to see the truth. We are not to last long on this earth. What have you done for the Lord Jesus Christ? What have I done for Him? May we say and be ready to say to Him, ‘Lord, here am I; send me.’
Let us pray. Our Father in heaven, we thank Thee, O Lord, for Thy revelation unto us through Thy precious Word. We thank Thee that Thou art our God who is in control, sovereign over all. And Thou art our God who arranges all things, even our lives.
You know every path we go, every place we visit, everything we do, Thou art our God who has arranged all this.
And we pray, Father, that as we also understand of the great work of salvation wrought through the Lord Jesus Christ, we are a people who desire to give back unto Thee our lives. Help us not to serve the world.
Millions and billions of people are serving the world. Less and less are serving the Lord. O Lord, may this church, you'll touch hearts. You'll open ears that they may hear Thy call and grant them, O God, a desire to give their lives unto Thee in whatever capacity. They will say, ‘Here am I, Lord. Send me.’
Father, we pray that you will work in the hearts of those who have heard these words, these calls, have been repeatedly mentioned in this pulpit. May Thy Holy Spirit be pleased to open ears and hearts to hear Thy Word. O God, be gracious and merciful unto us.
We pray and we ask all these things with thanksgiving in Jesus' name. Amen.
