đ Consider this: Are there areas where âenoughâ has never felt like enough? How might contentment grow as you trust God to provide what is truly best, not necessarily what you want?

đŁÂ What do you truly believe about the God who provides? đ€
Exodus 37:10â16 draws our attention to the table of shewbreadâsimple in purpose, yet rich in meaning. The bread laid before the Lord reminded Israel that their needs were never unnoticed, and their lives were continually sustained by Godâs faithful hand. Week after week, the table testified to His provision, His fellowship, and His protection.
This message reflects on how the shewbread points us to the God who still provides for His children todayânot only food, but everything necessary for body and soul. It calls us to see Him as the Source, to come as seekers, and to bring our daily supplications with humble dependence.
As you pray for âdaily bread,â are you resting in Godâs care, or relying on your own strength?

âGive us this day our daily breadâ.
It is completely understandable for a Christian in a third-world country to pray such a prayer. But for a Christian living in a developed country like Australia, such a request seems out of place. Most of us have bread. We have more than enough to spare and sufficient to last for weeks, months, or even years.
So why should we ask God for something that we have in such abundance?
John Calvin said, âThis petition: âGive us this day our daily breadâ refers to everything God knows to be essentialâ. In other words, anything that nourishes us, our physical needs, our emotional needs, our material needs etc.
They are all connected.
As one pastor rightly said, âYou may have bread to put on the table, but you may not have the appetite to eat it. It is still vanityâ. God is our Provider, and we are thankful every day that such needs are met.
Whether we are rich or poor, God wants us to depend on Him daily, and to give thanks to Him daily.
