All of us know
No one
can stand
against God.
God will
fight
against them!
Why do
people fight
in the church?
Anyone who
brings conflict
into the church
is God’s enemy.

Dealing With Conflict In The Church (James 4:1-6)
📣 How should you respond to conflict in the church? 🤔
Isn’t the church supposed to be a place of unity, harmony, and peace? So, why do conflicts arise among God’s people? The Apostle James pinpoints this all-to-real struggle on a number of underlying personal and interpersonal issues. In this sermon, Ps Paul Cheng challenges us to examine whether we’re contributing to the unity or the division of our local church. Beyond the apparently human level of our disputes, we’re pointed to the God who’s church we are, as He comforts His friends and warns His enemies. Join us as we learn how to trust in the sovereignty of our God, and thereby overcome even the worst of conflicts within the church.

Highlights
since the local church is made up of believers and unbelievers, then it is possible for… them to still be an enemy of God. and when these enemies of God are in the church, what would they do? they bring conflict and strive
(Jesus prayed,) it is because he knew that the church would soon be plagued with quarrels and conflicts… true enough the church…
think about problems… (pastor lists some crimes) are they not because of emotions? a deeper problem? is it not because of impatience, frustration and anger from within?
(pastor describes the woman who was elbowed in the supermarket) where did that come from? from within? anger in her heart, manifested in her actions. it is always from within.
what would you be willing to do? everything including murder, to have what you want.
- something around here is the spicy line
even king david murdered. even absalom wanted to be king so bad he was willing to kill his father.
even in the church…
people will find fault with everything you do. no matter what you do or how well you do it, they will find fault with you.
and when they cannot find fault, they will fight and war.
why do we pray? why do i want the things i want? don’t be like the unbelievers who pray for things to spend it on their own satisfaction. we must always consider God when we pray.
lgbt, ecumenical movement, etc (pastor lists ideas and groups of the world)
their goal is self satisfaction. it is the opposite of what God wants for you and me it is extremely hostile towards God. to agree with and love the system of this world
if you find yourself loving these things, you are a friend of the world.
jesus said “i called you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you”
as we mature, the things of he and become clearer and clearer, and we want to go home
we understand what
if we find ourselves having sinful thoughts that think evil of others, that cause division, what must we do? we must ask God to help us remove those thoughts. perish those thoughts. we it is not our business to fight. is to pray. because we cannot overcome trouble makers. only God can. and he will give us the grace, more grace to .. the church. he will resist them and fight against them. so what do we do? pray. ask the Lord for grace to press on. leave the rest to God to deal with.
