James 5:16a
James 5:16a, Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
Here, James was exhorting the believers to continually confess their sins one to another, and do not wait until it was too late. Do not allow those sins to drag them to the point of total spiritual defeat.
Do you know when sin is most dangerous to the believer? When he or she is isolated! Sin wants to remain private and secret, but God wants it to be exposed, dealt with and the believer be spiritually healed. Oftentimes, God will use the loving fellowship of the believers to do that. Part of Christian fellowship is this aspect of mutual honesty and confessions as believers pray for one another.
Dear children, that is why fellowship is so vitally important that we need to maintain this sharing and praying relationship with other believers, to help one another from living secret lives. This sense of mutual accountability will help us to confess and forsake sins before they overwhelm us.
