Dear Children,
Sometimes we may fight with our brothers or sisters because we do not want to share our parents’ time with them. Even if you do not have siblings, you may still feel sad when your parents are busy with work and cannot spend much time with you. We often wish that we could have more special time together with them.
Because parents love their children, they often try to set aside time to spend with them, perhaps after dinner or before going to work. In the same way, have you ever thought about spending quiet time alone with God in prayer? Let us see the example our Lord Jesus gave us in Luke 6:12.
Luke 6:12, And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
After a long day of preaching God’s Word, the Lord Jesus went to a quiet place by Himself to pray. There were no interruptions there, and He spent the whole night speaking with God the Father. Jesus showed us that prayer is precious and important.
God certainly wants us to pray together with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, but He also wants us to spend time alone with Him. Our quiet time with God is very precious. In fact, it is even more precious than the time we spend with others, because God is the everlasting God who always loves us, cares for us, and listens to our prayers.
Whether it is in the morning or at night, we should treasure a quiet time where we can pray to God by ourselves.
So let us try to find a special quiet time every day to spend alone with God in prayer.
