Dear Campers,
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1)
The annual family camp plays an integral part in our church programs and calendar. It is a time whereby we set aside the hustle and bustle of everyday life, work and chores, to feast upon the preaching of God’s Word and savour sweet fellowship with fellow believers. This year, we chose to return to CYC Philip Island Resort because of its conducive environment to host such a spiritual activity. A blessed welcome to Rev Lim Seh Beng (Pastor, Calvary Jaya Bible-Presbyterian Fellowship), our camp speaker, and Mrs Seh Beng, and Thessa & Theya, our children’s speakers, and all campers. This year’s camp theme is “Faithful in the Fire: Holding Fast in the Shifting World.”
Indeed, we are living in a rapidly changing world in terms of the social, political, technological, environmental, and most vitally, spiritual landscapes. Without a doubt, our faith would be challenged constantly, and how can we maintain a steadfastness in this shifting world? Well, let us get ready to take instructions from the Word of God as our camp speaker expounds from the book of First Peter, and let our children come with attentive minds and receptive hearts to receive wondrous divine truth to be applied into their lives.
Through this camp, may we achieve our spiritual goals to; (1) Grow in our closeness to God - through our daily personal devotions and quiet time (Psalms 42:1), (2) Grow in our knowledge of God’s Word - through our attentive focus on the messages that will challenge and enrich our lives with His Truth (1 Peter 2:2), (3) Grow in our fellowship - through this time of building new friendships and rekindling old friendships (Hebrews 10:25), (4) Grow in our spiritual walk - through faithfully applying whatever we have been taught (James 1:22, Colossians 1:0).
May the Lord grant us a blessed Family Camp! Shalom, Pastor Paul Cheng
