Worship Service
Since its beginning, Bethel BPC has always had its corporate worship service on Sundays at 9:30am. We meet at this time so many can come together to worship before a week’s work. Pastor Paul Cheng will exhort the congregation with the Word of God and the deacon in charge of the worship service has the responsibility to lead the people according to our Order of Worship on our Weekly Bulletin. The children have their own classes that run concurrently with our worship service sermon.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School is a ministry that is held every Sunday during our worship service sermon. This ministry has five classes that run concurrently to cater to children in different age groups. We also hold an annual Holiday Bible School (HBS) program to teach God’s Truth to the children during Term 3 school holidays. This ministry serves as a way to share the Gospel to children at the earliest possible age so that they may learn and grow in God’s Truth.
Choir
Martin Luther once said, “Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music”. Our church choir has the privilege of presenting praise items at significant events in our church calendar. Colossians 3:16 reminds us that we are to teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord. With this in mind, all with a heart to sing joyfully to the glory of our God are welcome to join. Choir rehearsals are held every Sunday, alternating between before & after our worship service.
Dig, Discover, Do (DHW)
DHW stands for ‘Dig His Word, Discover His Will, Do His Will’. It is a systematic study of God’s Word covering the Old Testament and the New Testament. DHW study notes are produced by Pastor Paul Cheng in collaboration with our sister churches for the spiritual edification of all who feed on Scripture. Classes are held every 2nd & 4th Sunday of every month after our worship service. Class facilitators meet every 2nd Wednesday to discuss our respective text.
Home Care Group (HCG)
Our Home Care Group (HCG) is a ministry aimed at enabling the families of the Church to connect and serve together. One of the key mandates of the ministry is to live out Hebrews 10:24, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works”. HCGs meet once a month. The current theme is to consider the different characters of the Minor Prophets and the challenges they faced.
Basic Bible Knowledge (BBK)
The Great Commission states that the key to having a reconciled, real and fulfilling relationship with God is teaching and obeying God’s commandments (Matthew 28:18-20). This requires diligent study, personal reflection to allow the Spirit’s conviction to work and godly devotional obedience of all that we know from God’s Word. This important embrace of the Christian faith is explained in our BBK ministry where a 20-lesson course provides a brief on key concepts and practices of the Christian faith as declared in Scriptures.
Course participants are provided a workbook. Weekly sessions are held to examine the contents of the workbook and provide opportunities for the participants to read and understand God’s holy, infallible Word. By God’s grace we pray that He will be merciful to all who attend that they may repent and come to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour.
Prayer Meeting
Since its beginning, Bethel BPC has always had its corporate prayer meeting on Fridays at 8pm. We meet at this time so many can come together to pray after a week’s work. Pastor Paul Cheng will exhort the congregation with the Word of God and the deacon in charge of the prayer meeting has the responsibility to lead the people in a time of singspiration then share items from our Prayer List to be prayed for in small groups.
Friday Children’s Program
Our Friday Children’s Program is a ministry that is held every Friday during our prayer meeting sermon & prayers.
Young People’s Group (YPG)
Our Young People’s Group (YPG) is a ministry made for high school students, university students, and young working adults. YPG gathers together every Saturday at 3pm to worship God, learn from His Word, and fellowship with His people. YPG aims to help each individual to love the Lord and to encourage one another. Our programs consist of messages, bible studies, workshops, outings, and prayer & sharing.
Annual Family Camp
Once a year around Easter, our church families gather at a local campsite for a few days. This short period away from work and from the world brings us together as a spiritual family to collectively fellowship & feed on God’s Word. Typically, camp speakers for the adults and for the children are invited from our sister churches to teach on a specific theme.
Senior & Care (S&C)
Our Senior & Care (S&C) is a ministry that serves to foster mutual help, support, and encouragement with the Word of God as our Guide. We meet once a month on Wednesdays at 11am where a message selected by Pastor or suggested by participants as to the needs of the group is preached. To date, there are around 12 seniors and a few youth. Friends are welcome. Light refreshments are served at the end of our meetings. This newly formed ministry had its first meeting on the 19th of October, 2023.
Monash Gardens
Once a month, Pastor and a team from Bethel, visit Monash Gardens to share and preach from the Word of God. Items of praise, singing of hymns and scripture readings are also part of the Order of Worship. This is greatly appreciated by the staff, the residents and their respective family members who attend these services. Easter and Christmas services are also marked on our calendars. Our young people also have instrumental song items and hymns presentations from time to time.
