We come to message 6, understanding stewardship through the 10 commandments. So in this last time, we are going to go through the time commandments. So... Altogether, there are time for moments. So we will take us some time. In order for us to understand, we need the Spirit of God to be our teacher. Okay, to let us begin a world of prayer. Almighty God, our loving, heavenly Father, we thank you for this morning, that we can come together, to fellowship, and to learn of my word, in this manner, before the tune of grace, may thy Holy Spirit open our heart, open our eyes, and run unto us. Wisdom and understanding. That we may know thy word rightly, and also to apply thy word in our life, for the blessing of by people. And also the strengthening of our faith. Clan just all over our sins, we commit this time unto thee. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Well, when we look at the time commandment, it is a set of goods. Rules for the nature of Israel. Smoothers, what caught up to Mount Sinai. So on Mount Sinai, we receive the 10th Commandment. And grave into tablet of stones. By the fingers of God. Not written by Moses. But written by God himself. Well, the only writings and grave are into the table of stones, the Thank Commandment. To the Thank Commandment, must have an important place in the heart of believers. In particular, to the nation of Israel. Because they have a mission to fulfil, and this mission is to sign the gospel light. Not to the whole world. God had to choose people. We do not choose Angel. You do not choose the other creatures whom he has made. By your children men, made in his image. But because of sin, man has fallen, fallen into sin, rebellion against God. But by the grace of by the grace and mercy of God, God gave the promise, right in 20th chapter 3, verse 15. The very 1st gospel that God preached to man. Of course, diverse, in genetic 315, it is a direct conversation. Within God and the serpent. Between God and the serpent. But it is a message. which is given to man. The God has given the promise to the woman's seat, like he was sent for the Messiah. But the Messiah in Hebrew, it means the anointed one. Very the orated one. And this promise is given to generation after generation. And until the time that God raised up his people. A nation, court is for. Welcome, I understand why the people want to draw this, huh? Love is real. Well, I may need to find out what is this. The last letter. The last letter, no, in Hebrew, in Hebrew word, how do you know whether it is? masculine or feminine? In Hebrew, the structure of the world, well, especially the verb or the noun, it will tell us everything. It will tell us whether you need a masculine or a family. Whether it is... singular or plural? All in one word. Okay, unlike our language, we have to use several words to make up a sentence, to tell us whether it is male or female, whether it is singular or plural. So in just one word, okay? But it will. Now, Israel taken just as the work itself. It is masculine. It is male in gender. Okay, for example, I mean, just to help you understand, when we regard a nation, a country, Australia, okay, for example. What gender it is? How you dream we will classify it as family, isn't it? But for Israel, it's a very unique nation. To the Jews, it is rendered as masculine. It is a he. It is a he. For all in the mind of the Jews, whenever they hear Israel, is referring to Fi, okay? A collective people. Israel, the children of Israel. Okay, is he. Or they, huh, but still masculine. Then love is real. So why is it a family? Israel is masculine. So in Hebrew poetry, they have this unique wave of rendering. But in order to emphasise, in order to personify, okay, it's as if Israel is a person. Okay, so just for Hebrew poetry, so love is real. Love is really. So it is a poetry. There is, you know, form of, in a poetic manner, okay? and how they use it. Well, that's my leader study, a little research concerning concerning the, the Jews have a very rich culture and heritage. And from the Bible, from the Old Testament, we see the people of Israel, how they come together. How they were born. Never before, never before. Do we see in any patriots of the scriptures? How a nation was born. How it began with one man, and this man is Abraham. the father of Israel, the father of the nation of Israel. And so to the nature of Israel, the Ten Commandment was given. So when we look at Stuart... Now, at first, when I prepare, you know, this lesson in the Adaltonic school of biblical stewardship, I always thought that, no, it's commandment number 8 and commandment number 10. The Delt directly with Stuart Swift. So what is commandment number eight? Common, number, number eight is douse, or not steal. Not a lot of steel. So, stealing had to do with possession. The belongings of people, so we are not to take other people's belong, without their permission. If you do that, it will be stealing. So I thought, no, that is what pertaining to stewardship, you must be contented with what we what we have, though we must not take other people's things. Number 10, similar. But it does not take, it doesn't need to take the act itself. not to to commit sting. All it takes is just to cover. So that's why commandment number 10 is dow shall not cover. So it's inside us. You said desire it. It is a sin of it. It is a sin or it. For whatever reason, why you covered, you, you do not want, you, you want what others have? You do not have, but you want what other time. That is covetous, covetousness. So at 1st I thought it's only commandment number 8 and commandment number 10. But then as I study deeper, as I look at which commandment itself, yeah, I realise, it all linked to steel strip. Well, that is so amazing. So, something which I learned, and I learned this year. Never learned before. Though the Lord has, uh, graciously taught me, and I'm more than happy, not to be able to share with you what the Lord has taught me. Now, that to recap, you know, what we have learned thus far. God is the owner. Okay, call it the owner of everything that we see before us. Everything. Literally everything. Whether directly or indirectly, we know that the chairs are made. By man. Manufactured in a factory. Okay, all the machines, all the plants, you know, whatever, that the end product is the check, okay? The end product is the building. But God is the ultimate owner. Without giving man the wisdom. The intelligent, the skill, all these training, and put them all together. Toby trade all the way to God. God is owner, huh? So that's why that is the foundation. Okay? So we must get our foundation very firm. No doubt about it. Okay, no doubt about it. Because we will carry this foundation wherever we go. As you grow up, right now, you are a student. One day you will be in the workforce. You will graduate, you will, you will, you have to begin your career. And you'll be in the workfall. And then, in the workforce, there will be different challenges. But you must still remember that God is owner. You cannot forget that. And then your next phase of life, while you still have your career, you may have your family. Okay, you may get married. And then after that, we may have children, and then you have your own family. And again, you must not forget that God is owned. Okay? God is owner. And God is owner of everything. It is still the owner of all that you have, all that you are. And all the way until, you know, either you retire, or a lot calls your home, huh? So from the 10th Commandment, we are going to see how this stewardship comes alive. Come to life. In our understanding of the Bank Commandment. Okay, so we will go through each one of them. In fact, I was so gripped with the new inside, the spirited inside of the 10 commandment. Each one of them. How it relate to stewardship. Okay, and it impact my life. So it's good for us to turn to act to those chapter 20. versus one to 17. Versus one to 17 of actor chapter 20. So let us wait responsibly. This is the thankful moment that God has given to his people. Okay, are you all there? Act to the chapter 20 verses one to 17. First one, and God speak all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Lata have no other gods before me. Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any lightness, or anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water, under the earth. Not to not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them, for I, the Lord, thy God, am a jealous God. visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the 3rd and 4th generation of them that hate me. I'm showing mercy unto 1000s of them, that love me, and keep mine for moment. But do not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless, like take his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it cold? Six days shall down labour and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord Thai God. In it, thou shall not do any work, thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man servant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gate. For in 6 days, the Lord made heaven and earth. The sea and all that in them is, and rested the 7th day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother. That thy days may be long upon the land, which the Lord thy God given thee. Those are not cute. Thoughts are not allowed to be. Thoughts are not steal. Those are not bear false weakness against my neighbour. Together, the last verse 17. Thou shalt not covered thy neighbor's house, house or not covered thy neighbours, wine, nor his man servant, nor his maidservant, nor his horse, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbours. Amen. May God bless the reading of his holy and precious words. Now the 10 commandment is divided into 2 tables. In 2 tables. One towards God and the other towards man. Now, There are 2 views or positions, pertaining to the division, okay, of the table. One view is 5.5. The 1st 5 to earth God. And then the next 5 towards men. And then the other view is the 1st four, not towards God. And then the next 6 commandment towards man. Well, some of you may think that or may go for four, six. Okay, first four towards God, the last six towards men. Well, that's fine. Depending on how you explain. But for this, we take five, five, okay? Five towards God and the other 5 towards man. Why did I take the number five? What is the number 5th commandment? Honour thy father and thy mother. And the reason is because, well, the, an honour thy father and my mother implies we're talking to children. Children have to honour their father and mother, and children, children at the moment they were born. Absolutely helpless. Without the parent to take care, the child will die. Literally will die. Different from animal. Okay, you will find that some of these animals, maybe not all, some of these animals, when they were born, they can be self sufficient. Some way, somehow. Of course, most of the parental instinct in animals, they will take care of the young. Take care of the young. That would be the common one. But you will realise that some of these young, of these animals or creatures. Even right from day one, they can walk, they can do a lot of things. So very different from men. Look at the baby, the moment the baby is born. What did a baby do? The baby? Oh, you know, suddenly stretch, suddenly can walk. No. How long does it take for you to walk? You know, some, even, when they reach, one year old. You cannot walk. Maybe they can crawl very well. They can stand very well, but they cannot walk. One year, you cannot walk. Of course, there are some who can walk in a method of months. What about our first few weeks? You cannot even walk, you cannot even do anything. You just keep on crying when the baby is hungry. You need someone to literally bring the food to the mouth, and then feed the baby. Yeah, feed the baby. So literally, the baby is absolutely helpless. So the from young, the baby or the child, the infant. Nee, the parent, not as if they are god. Is it the parent or God, though, in this aspect, to honour thy father and thy mother, because the parents represent God. So that's why we classified under the 1st 5 commandments is toward God. Now the next 5 commandment is towards man. Okay, so that, that is, to help you understand, why we go for 55 okay? okay? As far as this, this camp is concerned, okay? Can you hold on to your view if you have? Four, six. No, it's up to you. Okay, but in this, we hold to 55, okay? okay? So we settle on this. Now let us look at the 1st 5 commandments towards God. Okay, so why is the 1st commandment? You begin with both three. Now, having said that, this is not a comprehensive study of the Ten Commandment. Okay, all that is mentioned is all designed to to help you see the link between the 10 commandment and stewardship. There's surely more to it, okay, to the tank of moment that are given to us. They are given to the turor of Israel. But what is sufficient for us is how it relates to the worldship. So it's not going to be comprehensive. Now this 1st commandment, which is in verse three, God says, thou shalt have no other gods before me. Remember the foundation? God is owner. This verse is the foundation. The foundation of stewardship, that God must be 1st place. in our lives. Every aspect God must be first. No, it doesn't mean that God is put number one, yes? And then after that there is number two. And then after that, there is number three. No, it doesn't mean that way. God is first in everything. None of it, there is God, and him alone. God and him alone. That is how we ought to see. There is nothing else, huh? Without God. Those stealership must begin with this recognition. The goddess, the rightful owner of everything. And that also includes our heart, not our heart. Do nothing must hold us back. So when we place anything above God, the moment we do that, we fail in our spirit. But moment, studies come first. Well, I must study for my exam, too, I cannot go to church. I cannot pray. I cannot read my Bible. I'm a study person. Then you have failed in your worldship. God might be 1st because how can we put anything that God has given to us? Studies is given by him. Huh? May not be directly made, but indirectly. Now, God, I put out in this society, whereby we need to go through education. God had put the government in place. God is the one who ordained the government, and then the government decided, well, every children, every child, must be educated. So they have an education minister. How to come up with the curriculum, the structure, know how, from what age to what age is the primary primary level, or even before that kindergarten level. primary level, secondary level, or high school level. And then after that, university or other, to make up the whole education system. Okay, indirectly, it's given by God. Would you use this as an at skew? I don't have to go to church, you know, because I have to focus on my study. I have to do well, you know, I have to do my part. God is the one who gave you the study. He will not give you the studies to replace him. No. So when you remember that God is owner, he is number one. Ah, then you will put him first place in your study. Well, it covers everything. Not only you will work hard, you will be a responsible student. You will submit your assignment on time. And you will not be proud. You will want to help those who are weak in the subject. Although, there are too many things to consider, because we are steward. In light of the first command, God is number one. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. So that will also include your, your, your extra activities. The game that you like to play, the sports that you like to engage in, to all these, God must be number one. Okay? God must be number one. These are the, these can be modern idols. Studies, gaming, sports can be modern either. If you ever put them above God, they can be idle. But God says, thou shall have no other gods before me. Okay, remember, it is not putting, oh god, number one, after I've done my part, got number one, then I do number two. And after that number three. No, God is, number one in your studies, God is the number one of the number two. If you want to see that in that category. God is still the number one of your number three. God, it is the number one or the number four, whatever you put. After that, you will always know that God is always number one. Anything that is above God is idolatry. Though we must be faithful, steward, ordering our life around God. All our decision, our plan, our goals, will all reflect the position of God in our life. Okay, so we must put him first. When God is first, everything will be in place. In the right place. The problem with art is, we think that we know better than God. So we order our own life, without God. No, as we think that as long as we pay our dues, we worship God on the Lord's day. God will be happy. Well, then the rest of my time belong to me. No, God is the Lord of the Lord's day, and also the rest of our time. Okay. I hope, uh, tell it as far as the first commandment is concerned, we must surrender everything. Nothing to hold us back. Nothing. absolutely nothing. God must be number one. Okay, got my, my be number one. Second commandment, verse four, thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. Now, this 2nd commandment, this is the worship, how we perceive, and represent God. I want, again, reducing God to something visible. Huh? Take what? You say, say, thou shall not make unto thee any grieven image. So, in other words, we must present the right understanding of who God is. So that man will approach him rightly and biblically, to misrepresent him. Whether if we, by, by your own idea, or 42, or any philosophy, distorted belief, it's a failure of devotion. So when people look at you, will they be able to see the image of Christ in you? If they can, we have you. Now, we are fail. I worse still, we presented an image of Christ, in a way that is wrong. Now, for example, You know, let's say you have a thinking. As long as I pay my bills on Sunday. About two hours. I come to church, I worship God. At times Sunday school. After that, it's all my time. I do what I want. No, I can go and have a fun, and my fun, and play with my friends, okay? No need to, no need to pray actually. No need to read the Bible because I already paid my bill. I've already worshipped the Lord on Sunday. The rest of my time belonged to me. Then the way you present, sir, God, and that, oh, well, actually, this is your God, huh? Well, your God is not quite good. I also want to believe. But you misrepresent God. Okay, because you make God to be such, so low, not to have such loose control over your life. Well, as long as God sees my sincerity in these 2 hours, you know, I may serve him, I pay attention to the Sunday school class. I make sure I I am I am found in church, rain or shine. I am injured, but then after after these two hours, Wah, I'm free. I'm free. God cannot ask me to do anything. That is the kind of image you give to others, and you are misrepresented. And that is a very serious thing. Okay, because this God is not the God of the Bible. This god is the god of your own imagination. This is what you want God to be. Not the God of the Bible. That is completely not completely unbiblical, in other words. Okay, so, biblical stewardship or Christian stewardship includes how we worship God. Yet we have public worship. We also have private worship. In fact, we are worshipping God all the time. Prayer is also part of worship. Singing is your top part of worship. Meditating, thinking, is also part of worship. Well, worshipping God all the time, because we are engaged with God in and out. No, it doesn't mean that only when you close your eyes, put your hand together, then that is prayer. When you're walking, can you open your eyes and pray, you can. In fact, when you look at, when you study the sun, a lot of the sun talk about, wow, you look, look at the sky. Look at the stars. Look beyond the hills. It's not clothing item. Yeah, it's not producing eyes. Remember, in the time that the Sami space travel, running away, very close to eyes and run, you can't. You are running away from your enemy. And at the same time, the psalmist is praying for God's protection. As all we see, I'm engaging with God in prayer all the time. All the time. So how we present God to others is also very important. Now, will people see that you are walking close with God? Very sensitive to sin. So sensitive that, well, each moment temptation come. Wow, you know that you have to do something. No, you cannot take for God, eh, nothing, I can overcome. No, you know there is a temptation there. Well, depending on what kind of temptation, If that's only for you to be in that place with the temptation, you will avoid, you will run. Joseph, you try to run, isn't it? But the 1st wife caught hole of his clothes. Even tall, his clothes away. So maybe at a side point. How do you think Portable's wife look like? So how do you think potty, potty 1st 5 look like? Wow, you know, is it Miss Australia? Huh? I'm not sure what I hear. You, you, you have, you have a glimpse of what all this about? About Miss Australia or Miss, you know, whatever state, you know, this is the Victoria, whether you have a Miss Victoria. There's a certain image, certain image. So what about Portipus Y? What is, what do you think Joseph is facing? From someone in Egypt. Maybe you'll see that, or maybe... But the first wife is, wow, miss Egypt. Okay? That's why I bought the 1st wife, a potifer, one third. This this wife, huh? Of course, a wife, no name. It's called Botty 1st Y. So how do you think? What do you think of her beauty? Huh? Long hair, fair. Huh? Beautiful. Now, when Satan plant a temptation, we make sure that this temptation will really a temptation. What did those run away? Some people say... From Egypt, those surf is from Canaan. Penam is fair. Egypt. That's what Tom commentators say. Why the daughter reject participles' wife? Must be very ugly, because not of Joseph taste. And then, not only that, look at what Botifus wife did to Joseph. Who is the strongest woman here? Strongest, in terms of strength. Clarissa, are you strongers here? No, maybe you are, maybe based on your build. Can you tear my clothes? I'll let you tend my clothes. Dose of clothes is made of linen. Linen are very tough. And she had a strength to pull his clothes and pair it. Can you imagine how strong she is? That means you must be very big size, huh? At least we can imagine, based on all this description, and she's from Egypt. According to Potiphar, she is the most beautiful. What about dosa? Also, must be the most beautiful, because if not, what is the temptation? Why did those of run? Huh? Satan would not be so foolish. I give you a temptation that is not really a temptation to you. Titan is not as foolish. He will make sure that he will present someone who is, what you are dreaming of. And that become the temptation. With the mind of God, okay? The biblical mike. If there is a biblical cap or Bible cap, put it on. When we read off all these descriptions. Then we will be able to understand. The temptation that comes are all specially designed to trap us, but we are given the wisdom, not to fall. We are given the wisdom of the fall. And in order not to fall, we must be able to know the word of God. We must know God. And we must present him rightly. Do that temptation will not overcome us. We flee from temptation. Well, we do not let temptation have a hole over us. Although it's important how we represent God. But you cannot represent God if you do not know the Bible. So that's why this 2nd commandment is important. Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image. Because God is a spirit. We worship him in spirit and improve. Okay, so we make sure that we have the right representation of God. in our approach. He thought that the second commandment, The 3rd commandment, thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Well, we focus on God name. Teaching by what we say. By what we say. And words are powerful, especially when we invoke the name of God. Because God's name will represent who he is. If God is good, the word good would be fine. And as far as the word good has defined, God is, all of it, not most good, not some good, but it is perfectly good. And to take his name in vain, into use it carelessly. To use it dishonestly. Irreverently, the charismatic feature, are very good in this, taking the name of God in vain. Last night, God spoke to me, until you got linen speak. Well, he would buy the bitch side, putting his arm around me. Uh... And, and, cadamie, as if, I am his buddy. And then he comfort me, encourage me. He sing song to me. Miss... taking the name of God in vain, because he used God's name, like, invoke God's name. The Calispatic preachers like to do this. Last night, God spoke to me. And he gave me a message. I have to bring the magic to you. They're taking God's name in vain. So lightly. Tow lightly. When it is just your feeling, but it is just what they want to say to the people, but they use God's name. To add authority to add power to what they say. So that the congregation have, no, this is what God says. Who am I to to say it is wrong? This is what God said. It happened to one of the charismatic preachers. And so he says, That girl. God called me to marry you. What? The girl was... Was not able to say no. God says to him, and the girl married, the pitcher. It's a real case. I'm not making this up. I sound as if I make it up, but it's not. What? That girl, that girl, God calls you to marry me. So they got married, but then in the matters of, I'm not sure how long, maybe maybe months or years. They separated. The divorce.? He didn't, you say, God, call me, called you to marry the girl? No. God never, never did any of these things. It is something that you just created. You have taken God name in it, and you have destroyed life because of that. Well, in fact, when Robin thought shut this with us, you know, he was the one who, who slept with us this illustration, this story, this true story. To how to, well, if anyone would say the same thing to you. Anyone who, who seem to be a Bible teacher, or even a pastor, or someone of the leadership position, come and say to you, God ask you to marry me. So what should be your response? Your response to be, Thank you very much, but God did not show to me that I should marry you. That should be the answer. That will be the answer. Because who are we to say, hey, God will not speak to you, but you can't prove it, isn't it? But you can prove by your own experience. God did not speak to me. God did not ask me to marry you. So why should I marry you? Ah, through that superset. Let's start this thing. Help yourself. Okay, help yourself. Know the Bible well. It could be... Good stuff as your emergency button. Okay? Your emergency help that you need. Okay, so we need to know God and to represent him rightly. So don't take his name in vain. So faithful stewardship of our words, is to use our words to glorify him. Don't use his name in vain. Okay, so that is the negative part, but what about the positive part? You know, when we use our words. Be sincere in what you say. Let your year be, your name be, so when we sing all the hymns. When we when we pray. listen. And when you sing, sing from the heart. Please sing for my heart. Yeah, you can look at the words, well, the words have meaning. Don't sing blindly. Look at the words. Meditate on it. The chorus is for that purpose. Know how when we sing again and again and again and again, you know, is to focus on God and to truly praise the Lord. With the words. Okay, so that is faithful stewardship of what we say, okay, or what we say. We come to the 4th amendment very quickly. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy? Though these teachers are the stewardship of time. So there is a time that is set apart. to worship God. Okay, and that derives from the creation. Because in six days, God created the world. And then on the 7th day, the Lord, hello it. Bless it, and that become our day of worship. That has been set apart for you and I to worship the law. Okay, to worship the Lord. But let us not forget the 6 days. 6 days we are to label and do all our work. So for you, you have to study hard. Study hard. Whichever phase that you are in, be a responsible person. Be a responsible Christian. Be a good Christian steward. What the God has instructed to you? So this command, commandment number four. It is something that is already been practised. in our life. especially for those who are born into the Christian family. Well, it's something that you do from both. Your parent brought you to church. Every Sunday. Hey, did this, this become your life? For person, religion, Christian, I belong to the first generation Christian. I do not know about keeping the lot safe. I only know that, wah, Sunday is a free day. It's a public holiday. So it's time for me to sleep all day long. Play all day long, you know, to just simply have fun. To just do what I want to do on Sunday. But after I come to know cry, know that this, that this commandment, to set aside one day to worship the law, then my life train. All my life to, to this be become the pattern. Become a light. Now that I have to always know that I have to observe a lot of things. That's why it's remembered. We are forgetful people. We have to remember to keep the Sabbath day holy. Okay fully. So not just 2 hours. Huh? The day, the day. Don't, don't, don't be calculative with God. Oh, God, okay, this is the start of the last day. Before that, don't don't disturb me, okay? So want the start? Okay, I'm yours. Then, coming to the end, out of church, Lord, don't disturb me. But before that, yes, I'm yours. But after that, don't disturb me. No, don't be calculative with God. Okay? If you are calculative with God, if God will be to be not to let you go. That means you're not of his own. You are just a Sunday Christian. God will not allow this to happen to his children. How do you say to your parent? Okay, this time you can, we can have your, I'm your, I'm your tool. I'm your child. Other time, I'm not, I do what I want. No. As far as we are under the care, you remain as their children, isn't it? And they are your parents. From birthday, are your parents? They have been taking care of you. Are we? Are you gonna be cooperative with them? I'm sure you will not. Because you know you need them all the time. Maybe if you say, oh, I want to be independent, but you still need them, isn't it? Why you want to be independent, you go out. You go to the street, you live by yourself. Even the clothes, you return to you. You go and find your own clothes. You will never happen that way. either way. We need our parents. As much as we need God, I thought we cannot bargain with God. We should not even bargain with God. Okay, so 4th commandment is important. Remember the suburb day to keep it holy. And although not forgetting the 6 days, huh? Vima, put God first. Do our work faithfully. Your work will be your studies. Okay? So God is in our mind all the time. And then we come to the 5th commandment. Honour thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long upon the land, with the Lord thy God give it thee. With all this commandment. For the children to honour their parents. It's part of Christians stewardship. Can you imagine that? Because when you look at what you have, all from my parents. No, you cannot run away from this. You are what you are. You have what you have, because of your parents. Huh? No one will dispute this. Okay, so you have to honour them. Okay, so honouring them, remember ourselves with you. Honouring them, it different from obeying them. Well, because there may be moments, there could be moments, and I pray that it will never happen. Parent may call upon the children to do something that is against God. When that happens, we must not obey them. Okay? When I say must not obey them, doesn't mean you will be rude to them. Well, doesn't mean that you throw your things, slam the door, or stop breaking things in the house. No. Politely, gently, tell them. If I were to obey you, I would disobey God. A simple, like, if your parents are believers, they will understand. In fact, they will praise the Lord, you know, for such spiritual maturity that they can find in you. And you have served a reminder to them. Because of your response. Your response is not defiant. The response is a biblical response. But you continue to honour them, right? It doesn't mean that, oh, I don't obey you. Well, but I look down on my parents. Well, because they are not explicited as me. No, you honour them. Yeah, you honour them. They are your parents. Well, you continue to obey all those things, which does not go against God's word. If they call you for dinner, You call you to come, eat your dinner, come, go quickly. In fact, don't let them call you. Maybe you are already ready. Maybe you can give them a helping hand. Give your mom the hoping hand. Lay the tables. Bring the food, and then after that, water dishes. Offer. Clean up, not, no, not leaves everything there, just walk off. Something we can think about, nothing. So, it's not something that, well, automatically we will want to do it. Try, try. Pray and ask a lot to help you. How I can honour my parents, you make your own bed. It's honouring your parents. Tidy up your debts. Of course, I know. Well, I have a coworker in the church. Wow. I always like to ask people to, you look at her desk, and then you look at my desk. My dad is work mainly, not hardly anything. Start a computer, computer, and shelf, and then... But we need nothing. Others. But then you look at her then... I don't know how to work, but you can work. Somehow you can vote. You try to tidy up for her. She may not be able to find her things. Somehow, it's like that. Now, of course, these are a section, exception, but if you were to tidy up your table, Keep your, keep the place clean. That is honouring your parent. That is honouring your parents. Something literally the thing that you can do. at home. And you will go a long way. You will carry the same attitude when you go out. Well, as a student in school, you will also present yourself in such a manner, though, because I am representing my parents. If I misbehave in class, it also reflects my parent, isn't it? Because if you really misbehave, the teacher had to call your parents. And your parents will be embarrassed. What? This has happened to my children in school. Misbehaving. Does they honour the parent? No, he doesn't. Okay, so honouring our parent goes a long way. Goes a long way. Okay, so we have covered the first five towards God. And now we look at the other 5 commandments towards man. The 6th commandment, thou shalt not kill. These 6 commandments affirms the sanctity of life. It teaches us that we are not to take life for granted. Life belong to God. But it is our own life or the life of others. Okay, or the life of others? Sorry, I'm sorry that I did not make myself create. In your notes, okay, there are 2 messages on the tank of moment. I, I, I, I, I combine it to, into one. Then the message number seven, we will deal with the parable. Okay, the power over or the Thailand? Okay, with the shorter lesson, to our, I'm going to spend a little bit more time on the Tank Commandment. Okay? Victoria, do you know, share with you beforehand? I thought at the most basic level, this commandment prohibits the unlawful taking of life. So this will not include, for those who have been sentenced to death, okay? Because there are capital punishment for some offences that one commit. For example, in Singapore, it will, it will be... No, you try to smuggle drugs into the country. You know, and if you exceed a total amount, it will be a death centre. Okay? And then there is also this kidnapping of a child or man or person. Kidnapping also comes with the capital punishment. Okay, so this will exclude the thinking of life, okay, because of all this capital punishment. So dao are not queue. Okay, we must talk, because we are angry, so therefore, we go to the kitchen and then step another person. End the life. Because we hate the person, okay? Now, this commandment teaches us the stewardship of life begins with recognising its secretness. What are we to take life? Only God, be only God. Because man is created in the image of God, everyone, you may think that the other man not deserve to live. That man also is created by God. He is also in the image of God. So a faithful steward will be able to see man as God sees man. And so what will we be doing? We will preserve life. Okay, imagine a doctor. Wow, you recognise that this man has done many wicked things? Huh? No, does that mean that the doctor, this doctor doesn't want to save his life, because his life is not in danger, maybe because of accident, or maybe because of sickness. Then the doctor say that, oh, his life is not good. I don't want to save him. Well, you have broken the sick commandment. No, not queue. I mean, this is just an example. We must see the sickness of life because life is given by God. So that's why we are against abortion. Okay, a button is definitely the bridge of this 6th commandment. Definitely. Okay, we must never go with the world. Because of all their reasoning. It's a turn up because, wah, you know, abortion is so scary, you know, you have to, you have to cut up the fitters, you know, to take out the leg, take out the head, you know, no, it's, it's not really that okay, but because God is the one who give life. Regardless of the peters, whether healthy or not healthy, but it is under the control of God. So when parents were given a decision, oh, your child will be born at a down syndrome. You can abort it. No, no abortion. God's will be done. If God has blessed you with a downing room or special needs, children, one court will give you the grace. To take care of this baby. As long as you are able. Okay? He will supply you the grace, but it may be a life of difficulty. But God will be there with you. Okay? So don't act at God, because we are bound by this commandment. Well, we are supposed to be good stewards. I'm a good steward. Okay, so that's the 6th commandment. And then 7th commandment, doubt cannot commit adultery. This help us to focus on the sanctity of merit. Got the importance of sexual purity. It must be gathered. It must be honoured. Merit is a covenant established by God. So therefore, don't break it. Now don't destroy it. Now, the moment you do anything, do it. Again, the will of God. Be pre-memodem relationship. You are already booking the 7 Commandment. In fact, no, the structure purity is so pressure. So it's like a glass. The moment you break it, you may try to piece up all the broken pieces together. And it may still remain as a bath, or at a glass. But you'll see the cracks already. No matter how well you pitch them together, you can see the line. You can see those scars. So don't break it, don't break the purity. Okay, at past three, for you. I like to try new things. There are many temptations. Many challenges. A lot of things is first time. When we when we are influenced by social media, we have, wow, I know this handsome man, beautiful woman. Well, coming together in love, huh? Well, that they all present all the nice things about relationship. What is the fourth picture? What is it? Misrepresenting. They only show you the good part. No, I don't want to be inside, you know, relationship. You know, I ever, nobody, when you look at all these Korean, or American, or even Vietnamese or Thai or pop star, celebrities. No, where people, wah, no, wah, so crazy about all these. I mean, they're all they're all called idols. Isn't it? Wow, I like this so and so, you know. Wow, then you have posters in the, in the room. And then now you have figurines, you know, well, look like him. I actually had an experience, you know, to be like, you know, when I went to Taiwan for my army, I went to this because we are only busy when the Singapore army troop come to the army base where I was located. We are only busy at that period, but other time, we are very free. So we are given opportunity to go to some of these schools, to teach English. And some of these schools, they have all these students. Somehow they have more female than male. And then these female students, wah, they see us, it's like wow, we are, we are very we are like the popular singers. No, when we come, not because of our uniform, we look very smart, then when we come, we mark. Wah, then they like follow, they they run. So, for once, I felt with, whoa, I'm, no, people like worship me. Huh? So when I stood up there and teach English, wah, their eyes were all, no, they're not even bring, you know, the kind of excitement. When I saw that, how to teach in front of these students. It's not just that one time experience, you know, again, and again, in fact, more and more, when we see a group of students run, when they see our army truck come, Wah, they run behind. So when I see on the TV, you know how all those fans, one after their idols. It exactly happened to me. I mean, a group of us, we become famous. Wah, that will really make our head big. Well, they're young. They are... our total young. Well, we always fantasise about this. But that will make us lose our such purity. Because we also want to be like that. We only see the good side. What about the line? of the relationship. Okay, so Don't be naive. Don't let the world detect your life. Thought shall not commit adultery. It's a good commandment. Not trying to restrict you, to such that you cannot breathe. No, if you take it in the good light, it's protecting you. Not preserving you. For marriage. Stop for marriage. So we do well, when we exercise, great pair. Controlling what we think, controlling our body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Do not let it be defiled for a moment of lust. They end up becoming unclean in the sight of God. We come to the 8th commandment, thou shall not steal. What belong to others don't take. Okay, don't take. Why are you taking the thing that the top belong to you? That is the failure of dualship. Okay, so material thing, we understand. But uh... The thing that we are colours is time. Good time. Well, it's also my problem. At time, I did not manage my time well. So, for appointment. So I could be found being late. okay And that's not good, okay, because the time that is lost, is lost forever. Okay? And you are not only waiting, wasted your time, you also wasted another people, another person's time. So time, good time. Do not steal time from others. And then in other aspect will be laziness, laziness. The cinder is easily found among us. Let me lie it down a bit more. We just want to laze around. I don't want to do anything, you know, because we are tired. Not so much physically tired, but maybe I just want to be more relaxed, so laze a bit, lays around. Don't, don't. You can wear. Be disciplined. You know, there's such a thing called power map. It may work for some, but may not be all. Maybe you need to do some other thing. Go, go for a bath. Or those who are able to keep alert after drinking coffee, go ahead. So for me, how how do I keep alert? I go up. I go for a power net, then after that, I will be fat. Coffee doesn't work for me. I drink, no matter how much, how much, how many cups of coffee, how strong it is, I can still speak. In fact, the more I drink, the better I sleep. So it doesn't work for me. It doesn't work for me. I told you, do whatever it takes that work for you. Don't idle around. Don't be lazy. Okay, so doubt or not still, okay? We know very well. And then the ninth commandment does not bear false weakness, again, thy neighbour. So it's a truth that has been entrusted to you. How are you taking care of the truth? Will you bear both weakness? Because you want to protect yourself. Oh, I didn't bend the car, not against the front, no, picking up a driver. Very easy. No, because you you do not want to take responsibility. You always want to push responsibility. But God wanted to own up, right? Or not mean, right, you have to pay the damage. But Toby, pay the damages, it is my fault. So I have to face the consequences. Pay for it. Pay for it. No, rather than, well, I think a false report, and then in the end, 5050, then you feel very happy because actually totally my fault. But now other, the other party also have to pay for it. But you're bearing a false weakness. What about you? Oh, you're exams. What, fool matter? But then you realise you dig one question, giving a, I think, a wrong answer, but the teacher, maybe overlook, but past you. Mark it right. But if let's say I go and tell the teacher, my mark will not be hundred, will not be full Aiyoh, what a waste. But anyway, nobody know. Are you gonna do that? Are you gonna bear false weakness? Now, if they found out, what happened? Hmm? We found out. That'll be terrible, you don't think? So, always bear the true weakness. Okay? Don't, don't, don't act at God, not as if you can control the situation. Okay, I'll try to manipulate, try to write in such a way, that Feed me, that I will not be in trouble. Just tell the truth. You will not break this night commandment. In fact, To tell the truth, it's easier than you come up with a lie. But because you have to remember the lie. And once you have to remember the lie, when you are questioned further, you have to use another line. Not to strengthen this line, or to cover up this line. There you have more thing to remember. That's why usually why, in a legal case, in a court, how come a simple case can drag for months? Sometimes even years. It's actually testing the truthfulness of the person. Because if the person is really lying, you cannot be able to hold the pieces together. Someway, somehow, there's a loophole. Then something will go along. You contradict yourself. This is not what you said, but you say you say it. Then they have all the evidences, huh? But then if you tell the truth, you have nothing to be afraid of. Okay? Because you will be consistent with the same answer, although maybe from different angle, but it's still the same answer, because it is the truth. Well, you don't have to worry about, uh, how to, how to get out of trouble. If you tell the truth, you know that you have done nothing wrong. You just tell the truth. Or even in the case that you know you have done something wrong, you also admit to it. Then you'll be dealt with accordingly. Okay, you will not get someone into trouble because of a lie. If you tell a lie, well, you may help someone get off the cook, get off the cook. But if it's a lie and it is found out, the one will not be, will not, will not go free, you will be in trouble. You also will be in trouble. Because you have ball or false weakness, okay? So it's all be a good steward of truth. okay? Be a good steward of truth. We come to the last moment. Thou are not covered, and then the whole leaves. And this 10 Commandment is the most easily broken. Because it's in the heart. Desire only? Thinking, only. But you know what Jesus says? Any man, look on a woman, laughs bully, he has already committed adultery. to that no need for the act to be done, to become a sin. The moment you think of it, it is already assumed. The moment you are angry without a judge call. You don't even do anything. You do not go and destroy the other person's property, or do anything to him, slap him, or beat him. Nothing. All you all you take is, you know, you're angry without a judge cause. Maybe you're jealous. that he is more successful than you, more popular than you, better looking than you. Then you don't like, okay? We don't like. Then you have seen already. Th are not covered. They have already broken the time commandment. Although 2 civil ship will guard us, but from even the top, we make sure we repent. Okay, we repent. Don't let it come out. If there's this thought, you ask God to help you remove this thought. Don't harbour the top. Don't entertain the talk because once you entertain it, it's only a matter of time, it will come out. Either words or action. Either water or wax. So thou shall not covered. It does or not covered. So the thankful moment, provide a complete picture of dualship. Well, in fact, if the whole camp, well, just focus on time for moment. It can also be done. We have... Maybe time for moment. Seven messages, 3 bookshop. Thank for moment, yeah. It can be done. There's so much we can draw in, you know, into the tank commandment, simply on stewardship. It's the worst. Because pay force, they were shipped, you mean, living in obedience to God. But we are all accountable to God. God is owner, and It is all about honouring him and glorifying him. Okay. So may the Lord help us. Let us pray. Our father in heaven, we thank thee for thy word, the thank commandment, that pertain to Christians to worship, how our eyes are open, and that we see the marvellous truth, the how we ought to be faithful steward. Even from the 10th commandment, how we may be found faithful until and until the day we meet our saviour face to face. Oh Lord, we pray that our will help us to keep divert in our heart that we might not sin again. And always to do thy will, to the glory of finding, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen
