The Apostle James understood that two wrongs do not make a right, that evil cannot be overcome by evil. So, in James 4:11-12, he condemns the sin of slander. Rather than brushing it aside as the negligible afterthought of an overzealous saint, he exposes slander as a reflection of an unloving heart, capable of destroying relationships and reputations. Instead of helping the church and its cause, we end up hurting it.
